My 21st birthday has been a real eye-opener, a blast and loads of fun! Preparations was not as much for me as I had my family and Bee to see to everything and all i had to do was to study for my exams (what a bummer) and to sit back and relax. Like a princess, everything was planned and prepared the way i wanted it to be. From the cakes, dessert table, food, photographer and decorations. Everything was done perfectly and if not for them, none of these would be a success. Through this birthday, I was truly opened up to many things and one of such, knowing who your true friends are, who are those who sees you as important as you see them. I am glad I have true friends.
It isn't the quantity but the quality. Likewise it applies to friends, it never was about the number but more of who stays true to you whenever you're at your wits and end.
So apart from the venue, photobooth, photographer and my own book for the guest, I had no idea on how my 21st Birthday cake was like, how the design were like, how the decorations were going to be, how the dessert table would be too. In fact, I only came to know about the dessert table just weeks before my celebration which so happens to be during my exam period and hence, I didn't pay much attention to all the details.
Theme for my party was "Bond's Red Carpet" reason being, No reason. Just thought it would be all nice and cool with everyone dressing up Smart and Sleek for a party and I'm really surprised and glad that everyone came dressed accordingly. Thank you for that! :) Everything was so pretty, from the dessert table to the Birthday cake, decorations, photobooth, and the lovely people in charge of my photobooth and my photographer for that night.
So.. To start off everything, venue of the celebration after much deliberation and discussion, I've decided on Hard Rock Cafe RWS (my all time favourite place). Initially the plan was to book a villa at sentosa but due to the limit and the noises that we will all make, i reckoned a cafe would be a better choice as there wouldn't be a need for us to clean up personally and afraid that we would invite unnecessary trouble from the management. As usual, booked two rooms at hard rock hotel to aid in convenience.
While I went off to vivo to find a salon that has the slot for me to curl my hair, the various teams came into position to set up the place.
This below, was the set up for the dessert table.
Specially went through the trouble to find the clapperboard and rose petals and weeks before, headed to typo to get the lettering and the disco ball light to accompany the many theme i set for my birthday.
Everything is just so pretty. V set the guest signing area.
Apart from it, to match the James Bond Guns and Roses theme, I bought the gun book IMMEDIATELY i saw it and it was bought months ahead while i was shopping with my uni Buddies.

TADAH~! The oh so pretty and awesome and glam and glittery dessert table along with my birthday cake. Spot my cake! Many of them did not even realized that that was it.
Months of probing and sketching and keeping it away from me, the end look for my cake! It's reaaaaallllyyyy pretty and SO PERFECT!

Because, every main lead would be busy on her big 21st! I was always on the phone replying to text messages and answering phone calls.

The photobooth that I was coordinating initially and was later taken over by V..
A simple balloon GER 21 was exactly what i wanted, and it fits perfectly to the theme.
The seriousness..
Glad I hired the photobooth as it kept many of my guests entertained. A definite must-have for every occasion/celebration.
As above, the clapperboard was empty and so I filled the empty blanks..
I was lost as to what to fill in so by the side, i had bee and the friendly photographer and friends telling me to put this and that. haha! it was pretty funny because i was so confused as their answers were all different.
The end after filling in, and the details still remained untouched till date.
Everyone started walking in and I was so so busy running up and down, taking pictured as everyone requested.
I love this shot so so much of the both of us. Candid and I absolutely love it.
It felt like i was preparing for my wedding. haha!

This what almost got me teared up. The biggest card I've received by far and also the prettiest. Thank you Shan for the effort and the time taken to piece everything so beautifully just so that you could surprise me with it. Words can't describe how touched and blissful i felt at that moment of time. Of course, everyone of my uni mates had a role to play. The well wishes, thank you guys for making my 21st so so special. :')

The emcee started announcing, "Geraldine, your friends have a surprise for you. Can i know where you are?" And i raised my hands up saying "Here"!

Thank you for being so so sweet once again. You caught me by surprise again. So apparently, all the secretiveness was revealed. I had videos of friends dancing to the song "Happy" and of course few with their own version of dance. Haha! It's really really cute and thoughtful for those who went through the trouble of videoing themselves dancing. Thank you for the awesome dance and wishes through the video. Of course, few in particular who WOULD NEVER DANCE actually danced and I'm really touched by that thought and gesture. I cried and laughed and smiled with many emotions came rushing through me. You all made it extra special for me that night.

Words can't express how thankful I am to have them in my life. One of my really good friend actually told me, "From this very birthday celebration that you're gonna have, you will be able to tell who are the ones who actually cared about you, who your real friends are, who would go the extra mile for you, and of course who are the hypocrites and not give a single shit about you." And I can now agree and say, what he/she said actually holds true.
This is how my 21st birthday celebration went and I had the best time out of that day and definitely did not miss out on the good stuff!
And so, this is what it feels like to have your 21st celebrated.
Definitely did not regret the choosing to celebrate my 21st. Everything was so perfect and i felt so so blessed and blissful with all the love i received. Thank you to each and everyone that made all this so memorable. :')
